Liquitex Airbrush Medium
Liquitex Airbrush Medium is a low viscosity, pre-mixed blend of acrylic polymer emulsion, water, retarder and Flow-Aid. It is ready to use pre-filtered and pre-reduced to the proper consistency for airbrush technique. Add as much or as little as desired. It is formulated for thinning acrylic colors for airbrush application.
This medium ensures that colors do not lose flexibility, durability and adhesion. It easily thins acrylic or any water-soluble paints to a sprayable consistency and allows thinned acrylic paint to be sprayed efficiently and retain paint film integrity. Liquitex Airbrush Medium mixes easily with all Liquitex Soft Body Concentrated Artist Colors to produce airbrush paint with the proper viscosity for airbrushing. It can also be mixed with all Liquitex paint, mediums, and gesso, including Liquitex Heavy Body Artist Colors.

Liquitex Black Lava
Liquitex Black Lava is a soft body, black speckled gel that contains small, flat, hexagonal shaped dark aggregates. When wet, it looks gray, but when dry, it gives the effect of ground, dry, black lava. When it is mixed with transparent and translucent colors, the black speckled quality is most apparent. Mix it with Liquitex Interference Paint for dramatic color effects.

Liquitex Blended Fibers
Liquitex Blended Fibers is a soft body, thick, fibrous gel that, when dry, gives the effect of flexible fibers. Add Liquitex Gloss Gel Medium or Gloss Heavy Gel Medium for easier application and to increase adhesion while wet. It works best when applied with a palette knife or trowel.

Liquitex Ceramic Stucco
Liquitex Ceramic Stucco is a soft body, thick, low luster, fine texture gel, that dries to a light gray matte stucco finish. It is excellent for producing thick 3-D effects, as well as thinly coating surfaces, and is an excellent ground for acrylic and oil paint, oil pastel, oil bars, pastels and graphite. It is somewhat susceptible to abrasion; a coat of Liquitex Varnish adds protection. Apply varnish carefully to avoid foaming and clouding. Ceramic Stucco works well with brush application.

Liquitex Fabric Medium
The Liquitex Fabric Medium enhances the workability of acrylic paint on fabric and controls bleeding of colors thinned with water. It provides a smooth, consistent flow to Soft Body Artist Color and prevents uneven application of paint to rough textured fabrics. It also reduces stiffness of dried acrylic paint on fabric and eliminates the need to scrub or abrade rough textured fabrics in order for paint to adhere to or penetrate into the surface.
Does not require heat setting.

Liquitex Flow Aid
Liquitex flow Aid can be used with all acrylic paints and mediums. Use in conjunction with any acrylic medium or color when increased flow and absorption and decreased film tension and friction are important. It is a flow enhancer that improves the flow, absorption and blending of any water-soluble paint (i.e. acrylic paint), medium, ink or dye. It minimizes brush marks by reducing friction of paint application. It does not contain binder. Over thinning of acrylic paint with Flow Aid and applying it to a non-absorbent surface (i.e. gessoed canvas) may result in poor adhesion. Always make a test piece for your particular application and surface. On non-absorbent surfaces, Flow Aid will increase the fluidity and open (drying) time of the paint. On absorbent surfaces, it will act as a stain, dye or watercolor.

Liquitex Glass Beads
Liquitex Glass Beads is a medium body gel that contains clear, round aggregates that dry to a semi-gloss, reflective ("bubbly") surface. For the most dramatic reflective effects, mix it with transparent or translucent colors or apply straight from the container over dried paint. For reflective textural glazes, mix it with Liquitex Gloss Medium & Varnish and small amounts of Liquitex Soft Body Concentrated Artist Color. It is suitable as a ground for acrylic and oil paint and works well with brush application.

Liquitex Glazing Medium has excellent brushing and leveling qualities, it dries quickly for rapid layering if mixed with any amount of acrylic color. Dries to a gloss finish.The viscosity and body similar to Heavy Body Artist Color. It is translucent when wet, transparent (clear) to translucent when dry. Thicker applications result in less transparent dry medium films. Ideal medium to mix with Heavy Body Acrylic Color to extend paint, increase the brilliance and transparency of color, without changing the thickness of the paint. Mix with Heavy Body Artist Color to obtain paint similar in color depth to oil paint.

Liquitex Light Modeling Paste
Liquitex Light Modeling Paste is a Soft Body, lightweight, airy, flexible, thick, sculptural gel specifically formulated to be used in thick applications where weight is a factor. It will not exhibit "mud cracking". Used alone, it will dry to a matte opaque white that readily accepts staining if desired.

Liquitex Matte Gel
Liquitex Matte Gel is a Heavy Body medium with the same qualities as Gloss Gel Medium, except it dries translucent with a satin/matte finish. The viscosity and body are similar to Heavy Body Artist Color. Matte Gel Medium has greater adhesion than Gloss Gel Medium and Gloss Heavy Gel Medium. It is translucent when wet, transparent when dry. Thicker applications result in less transparent dry medium films. Mix with Heavy Body Artist Color to obtain paint similar in color depth to oil paint. Color mix will dry to a satin sheen.

Low viscosity Liquitex Matte Varnish is very fluid and produces a matte finish that does not drastically reduce color depth as does Matte Medium. This 100% acrylic polymer varnish is water soluble when wet, and has good chemical and water resistance when dry. It dries to a non-tacky, hard, flexible surface that is resistant to retention of dirt. Matte Varnish resists discoloring (non-yellowing, non-fogging) due to humidity, heat and ultraviolet light. Depending upon the substrate, it allows moisture to pass through (breathable). It will not crack as the surface expands and contracts during temperature and humidity changes. It can be applied on any acrylic painted rigid surface - canvas, paper, wood, stone, Plexiglas, etc. It is not for use over oil paint. Matte Varnish is flexible, archival, non-yellowing and water resistant when dry. It is good for interior and exterior use.

Liquitex Modeling Paste
Liquitex Modeling Paste is an extra Heavy Body and very opaque marble paste made of marble dust and 100% polymer emulsion. Use it to build heavy textures on rigid supports and create three-dimensional forms. It dries to the hardness of stone, and can be sanded or carved when thoroughly dry. It can be handled like clay if the top of the container is removed and some of the water is allowed to slowly evaporate until it reaches a clay-like consistency. It adheres to any non-oily, absorbent surface. Drying too quickly causes mud cracking that is usually cosmetic, not structural. When mixed with acrylic colors it will act as a weak tinting white, while increasing thickness and rigidity. Modeling Paste is an excellent substrate for acrylic paint, oil paint, oil pastel, oil bars, watercolor, graphite or dry pastel.

Liquitex Natural Sand
Liquitex Natural Sand is a soft body, finely textured gel that dries to a surface similar to glossy "beach sand". Mix it with Liquitex acrylic colors to improve blending and impart the "feel" of oil paint. It is a very effective ground for acrylic and oil paints, oil pastel, pastel and graphite when delicate marks and blending are necessary. It works well with brush application.

Liquitex Pouring Medium
Liquitex Pouring Medium creates even "puddles," poured sheets, and flowing applications of color. It does not craze, crack, or hold bubbles in the paint film upon drying. It retains high gloss and wet appearance when dry and will not add transparency when mixed with color. It is flexible, non-yellowing and water resistant when dry.

Liquitex Resin Sand
Liquitex Resin Sands is a soft body, thick, coarsely textured gel that contains aggregates of various sizes. It dries to a "rough cement" look and will retain its unique texture well when mixed with paint. It is an excellent ground for acrylic and oil paint, when dramatic effects are desired.

Liquitex Satin Varnish
Low viscosity Liquitex Satin Varnish produces a non-glare, low sheen surface that will intensify colors and will not drastically reduce color depth.
This 100% acrylic polymer varnish is water soluble when wet. It has good chemical and water resistance. It dries to a non-tacky, hard, flexible surface that is resistant to retention of dirt. Depending upon the substrate, it allows moisture to pass through (breathable). Satin Varnish is made for interior and exterior use.

Liquitex Slow-Dri Blending Gel is a unique formulation for superior surface blending with acrylics. It extends drying time up to 40% for superior surface blending with acrylics. It is similar in body to Heavy Body Professional Artist Color. Mix any amount into color to enhance the depth of color intensity, increase transparency, gloss, and add flexibility and adhesion to paint film. Slow-Dri Blending Gel dries clear to reveal full, rich color. Unlike retarding additives, any quantity may be added to color without jeopardizing the strength of the paint film. It is translucent when wet, transparent when dry.

Liquitex Slow-Dri Fluid Retarder is for all acrylic paints and mediums. Its fluid consistency thins paints. It increases "open" time of acrylic paint, reduces paint skinning-over on the palette, and increases blending time, making blending of colors and detail brushwork easier. Mix with Liquitex Acrylic paints and mediums to retard drying time up to 50%. The Fluid Retarder is made to be used with Liquitex Soft Body Artist Color and Soft Body mediums. It may also be used with Liquitex Heavy Body Artist Color and Heavy Body gel mediums, however thickness of paints and mediums will be reduced to a more fluid consistency. Slow-Dri Fluid Retarder is Archival.

Liquitex Slow-Dri Gel Retarder
Liquitex Slow-Dri Gel Retarder is for all acrylic paints and mediums. It is similar to Slow-Dri Fluid Retarder, except in gel (Heavy Body) thick consistency. The gel consistency, designed to be used with Liquitex Heavy Body Artist Color and Heavy Body mediums, may also be used with Liquitex Soft Body Artist Color and Soft Body mediums. However, thickness of paints or mediums will be increased. Slow-Dri Gel Retarder is Archival and increases blending time.

Liquitex Soluvar Gloss Varnish
Low viscosity Liquitex Soluvar Gloss Varnish is very fluid and increases the depth and intensity of color when applied as a final varnish over dry acrylic or dry oil paint. It is also available in Matte, which may be intermixed for a variety of sheens.
Soluvar Gloss varnish is a permanent, removable, final varnish for acrylic and oil paintings that protects the painting surface and allows for removal of surface dirt, without damaging the painting underneath. Once the surface is clean, a new coat of Soluvar may be reapplied to surface. Thin with mineral spirits or turpentine. Do not use Odorless Mineral Spirits. It dries to a clear, non-tacky, water resistant, hard film that is resistant to retention of dirt and prevents dirt and pollutants from contacting paint surfaces. It is self-leveling and will not hold brush strokes. It resists discoloring (non-yellowing, non-fogging) due to humidity, heat and ultraviolet light. It is made for interior and exterior use.

Low viscosity Liquitex Soluvar Matte Varnish can be applied as a final varnish over dry acrylic or oil paint. It lowers intensity and depth of color, while reducing the surface glare. Liquitex Soluvar Varnish is also available in Gloss which may be intermixed for a variety of sheens. Liquitex String Gel
Liquitex String Gel, a self-leveling gel with a syrupy, honey-like consistency, enhances depth of color and increases transparency and flow. It dries glossy and transparent and is permanent, non-yellowing, flexible and water resistant when dry. Pouring or dripping the gel from above produces a long, string-like application. Mix it with acrylic color and brush to creating long streaking effects, as well as to enhance depth of color.

Liquitex Thickening Gel
Liquithick Thickening Gel can be used with all acrylic paints and mediums. It is a thickening gel for water soluble acrylic paint and mediums. Used in small amounts, it produces handling characteristics very close to that of oil or encaustic paint. At higher concentrations, it can thicken paint or mediums to "cake" or sculptural consistency. Drying time will be between 24 hours to 7 days depending upon amount of Liquithick added to the paint or medium. Liquithick does not increase transparency. It produces a matte surface sheen when dry. Paint and medium shrinkage will occur in proportion to the amount of Liquithick added. Liquithick Thickening Gel is Archival and contains a unique polymer.

Liquitex Ultra Matte Gel
Liquitex Ultra Matte Gel is a Heavy Body, translucent white gel of high density and high solids, that economically extends the volume of Heavy Body Artist Color without changing its heavy body. It adds up to 50% by volume, to double amount of paint and retain color position. If more than 50% is added, it acts as a very weak tinting white. It maintains the opacity of the color better than using a clear gel medium. It dries to a matte finish, giving colors a matte sheen and gouache look.

Liquitex Ultra Matte Medium
Liquitex Ultra Matte Medium is a soft body medium that increases the volume of paint, while maintaining the opacity of the color it is mixed into. Economically doubles the volume of Soft Body Artist Color by adding up to an equal amount (50%) of medium to color with little or no noticeable loss in opacity or change in hue. The opacity of colors mixed with Ultra Matte Medium will be higher than if the color had been thinned to the same degree with any other medium except Modeling Paste. When over 50% is added, Ultra Matte Medium can act as a weak tinting white, increasing the value of the original color approximately one level. Light colors will be affected less than dark colors.

Liquitex White Opaque Flakes
Liquitex White Opaque Flakes is a heavy body, coarse gel that contains irregular sized and shaped opaque flakes. White flake texture is most apparent when mixed with transparent or translucent colors or small amounts of opaque color. If pure white is desired, add a small amount of Liquitex Titanium White. Apply with a palette knife, trowel, paint brush, etc. Different tools produce different effects. Mix acrylic paint into Texture Gel or let gel dry and paint on top.

Winsor & Newton Carvable Modeling Paste
Winsor & Newton Carvable Modeling Paste is the do-it-all version that is tough and fully "carvable". It remains flexible on a variety of surfaces and is suitable for multiple layers. It is formulated to have the least effect on color change from wet to dry and may be over-painted. Color may be added directly to the modeling paste (note that color will become lighter and more 'chalky' and the resulting paste will have reduced body).

Winsor & Newton Galeria Flow Improver
Winsor & Newton Galeria Flow Improver is an additive that loosens the surface tension of water within the acrylic film. It increases flow, allowing the artist to apply areas of flat color evenly without changing the color strength. The increased flow is also ideal for masking applications (as the color lays more smoothly and evenly agains the taped edge) and for flowing, gestured watercolor techniques. Flow improver is also the best medium for "staining" applications. It should be used only in the amount needed to achieve the desired effect.
